Keynotes & Invited speakers

Pr. Albert Fert's - Nobel prize 2007 in Physics - UMR CNRS/Thales and Université Paris-Sud
will honour this meeting, giving a public conference :

From fundamental research to innovation:

a few examples in spintronics and computing/communication technologies

How fundamental research can lead to innovation ? A few examples will be given

  1. From the fundamental research on the electrical conduction in magnetic metals to the large quantity of information stored in our hard discs.
  2. From the symmetry of the electronic wave functions to the reduction of the energy consumption in the computers.
  3. From Esaki’s idea (1971) of electron tunnelling through a ferroelectric material to memristors mimicking the synaptic plasticity in the brain.
  4. From spin transport in graphene to logic circuits for the “beyond CMOS” perspective
